I want all the May flowers to last forever and ever, and seeing that I kill every plant that comes into our flat, the best way to preserve them is for me to press them. So here we go!
STEP 1: Pick all the pretty flowers and leaves that you want to press. Preferably on a dry, sunny day.
STEP 2: Find a heavy book and lay some parchment paper inside to smush the flowers in.
STEP 3: Lay some of your blooms down. Don't stack them on top of each other and make sure the petals aren't folded.
STEP 4: Smush 'em, stack all the heavy books you've got on top and leave it for about a week.
Your flowers should be crispy like potato chips (mmm chips) after ageing in the book. Now go pick some flowers and happy pressing! Come back soon to see what these pretty, pressed florals are turned into.
